Hazel Dell Man Who Backed Into Own Recycling Bin Demands Federal Inquiry

HAZEL DELL — Area resident Doug Reff, 54, called Monday for a federal investigation into the circumstances by which his own recycling bin came to be positioned behind his Dodge Ram, a placement Reff described as “tactical.”
Reff, who has backed into the bin on three prior occasions this year, told neighbors the pattern “goes deeper than one bin” and has requested footage from a trail camera that faces a different direction.
“I put it where I always put it,” Reff said. “And yet.”
Waste Connections confirmed the bin was serviced normally and returned to the same spot it is returned to every week, a claim this paper was unable to substantiate, as usual.
The bin has since been relocated to the side yard, where Reff reports it is “waiting.”
