RIDGEFIELD — Clark County has opened a public comment period on how to redistribute $202,500 from a canceled Ridgefield project, and by Wednesday morning the first 400 submitted comments concerned the Interstate Bridge.
County staff issued a clarifying notice explaining that the funds cannot be applied to the bridge, as $202,500 represents roughly ninety seconds of the bridge program’s current spending. The clarification drew 60 additional comments about the bridge.
“We are asking a simple question about a modest amount of money,” a county spokesperson said, before pausing at length.
The remaining comments proposed a pickleball complex, opposed the pickleball complex, and asked whether this was the correct form for reporting a neighbor’s chickens.
The comment period runs through July 27. The county encourages residents to participate, a position it is reportedly revisiting.
